![]() I do like there are a lot more balanced POVs from gender perspectives. I'm not a big fan of Naomi's chapters, probably because of how passive and weak she seems compared to most other chars. Jim is Jim, not the most interesting guy but always getting in exciting situations. She was with that first generation of Martian defectors rather than brainwashed Laconian, and Duarte is no longer in great shape, so.I don't get her motivations but her POVs are still good. Tanaka is hard for me to understand regarding her motivations. Would have liked for some Amos POV especially considering what happened in Tiamat's Wrath, and more Teresa. In general I appreciate returning to the smaller number of POV's found in the first few books and Tiamat's Wrath, although these four chars I would not call my favorites (well Elvie is probably top 3). Couple other randoms like Kit, Alex's son. Also several chapters from Teresa Duarte, and a few from Alex. ![]() The main POVs are Jim Holden, Naomi Nagata, Elvi Okoye, and Aliana Tanaka (the woman Santiago Singh dismissed early in Tiamat's Wrath). Reminiscent of "The Investigator" chapters in Cibola Burn. The "Dreamer POV" chapters are confusing. Leviathan Falls does an excellent job wrapping up the plot, although I still don't fully understand the uber alien things. I'll refrain spoiling specific plot details and jist outline some things. They're all 5/5 except maybe one or two in the middle with too many POVs (Babylon's Ashes probably my least favorite but still like 4/5). I started Leviathan Wakes less than two months ago and quickly burned through the series. Through the wide-flung systems of humanity, Colonel Aliana Tanaka hunts for Duarte’s missing daughter.and the shattered emperor himself. In the dead system of Adro, Elvi Okoye leads a desperate scientific mission to understand what the gate builders were and what destroyed them, even if it means compromising herself and the half-alien children who bear the weight of her investigation.
